Giving details of the main welfare scheme, Deputy Director RS Malik said that under the Maternity Benefit Scheme, regular registered women workers for at least one year are given the benefit of 36 thousand rupees on the birth of their child. In the same way, the registered construction worker is also given benefit of Rs 21 thousand if he has not been benefitted by his wife. For this, filling application in Form-11 will be done. He said that annual financial assistance of Rs. 8 thousand to 20 thousand rupees is given from first class to postgraduate for the students of registered construction workers. Children from Shramiks who receive merit in tenth class by the Board are also given stipend of Rs. 21 thousand to 51 thousand rupees. Once in three years, a grant of 8 thousand rupees is given for purchase of equipment and financial assistance of Rs. 3 thousand rupees for buying bicycles. Registered women’s construction workers are given once in the life to purchase a financial assistance sewing machine of Rs. 3500.
